Sauce Boat

Cruise Halong Bay, Vietnam

We got up early today because we have to catch the bus for our trip to the Bay Ha Long, about 3 hours west of Hanoi. Ha Long Bay is a charming little inlet filled with many karst [limestone formations], small islands, beaches is [not as luxurious] type of "junk" cruise ships. We would be one of the types of luxury - the "Valentine"

We boarded our boat at 12. It was incredibly nice with a cabin with teak panels, the quilt satin duvet, air conditioning and large windows looking into the water [although he did later discover that women in small boats selling water and chips were the eyes of level].

The fourth the bathroom had a real shower with water pressure and unlimited hot water. There were 4 cottages and a luxury cabin bottom up so that the whole ship had a capacity only 12 people at a time. Our first night on the boat had 8 people and the second night in a cozy others 6. This seemed very nice when deciding on the boat as others who were supposed to be so nice with a capacity of 29 or so.

We became friends on the ship Susan and Dan, the teachers at the International School currently taught in the city of Ho Chi Minh and were for their first holiday in Vietnam. They care less for total and finished off the cruise and on our return Hanoi.

Lunch was served in one and was an inspired blend of Vietnamese cuisine Continental. It was really bad. Joel fat frozen fish fried steak topped with a sauce that can only really be described as "wet" was the highlight. I will say they did a good job getting our correct food preferences - Joel Allan not eat seafood and do not eat fish, but apparently is not squid. Maybe that's because it is easier to detect around.

After lunch, we stopped at a small island for a while on the beach and, for those more ambitious [4 Tiger Beers not below or in desperate need of tanning], an excursion to the top of a panoramic view. I was told it was spectacular.

Later, our ship went to an island that held the "cave." We had the opportunity either by kayak or take a sampan [small rowboat] to check it out. Joel and I opted for the kayak and made it in the short term. The rest passengers never came, sampans be quite slow a whole.

We got back to the boat in time for the massage board. The massage was given in our cabin by a woman which weighed about half of what I did. She did a great job.

After wards, they all sat down to dinner.

After dinner, we stayed with Dan and Susan and exchanged travel stories. Everyone skips the movie being reviewed, although it sounded interesting. It was "Indochine" Denuve starring Catherine. We turned in around 11.
